Precis Intermedia brings back this classic boardgame. Originally published in 1977 by Wee Warriors, The Vanquished Foe is an early example of dungeon-style games. This was an era when games were created without today's advanced software and print services, making indie publishers of the time truly special.
Journey now into the hills of the vast mountain range on the island. Talk is that, once more, the bands of Mor Toc, leader of the Ten Orc Tribes, have been seen roaming the land. Once badly beaten by King Arman, they were thought to have fled the island. Not so! Once more, it seems their blood lust has drawn them into contact with the peoples of Baylor.
The Dwarves sit silently, sharpening their great mattocks and swords. In the lower valleys, the Elves stroke their spear points across the wet stones. While all around make ready in a little-used hallway, there can be heard the faint scraping of iron against rock. And in that hallway... a wall begins to crumble.
This game pits Dwarves (or Elves) against Orcs in their lair. Both sides secretly place their units, engaging in combat when the time is right.
This piece of gaming history is a must for collectors, old school gamers, and those looking for a fast-playing dungeon-style game. With the original on the extremely rare list, this classic reprint of The Vanquished Foe has been remastered for a clean print and is readily available at a low cost.
