Description
"An ancient game of skill and chance for two players, ages 10 to adult. Reproduced from the oldest game in the world (2,500 B.C.) found in the ruins of the ancient city of UR."
The game has been published under different names but it is a simple very much like Backgammon. This edition has a board that is a reproduction of the original found in UR. Each side brings their 7 pieces in and takes them off of their outer track. The pieces come into conflict on the inner track that they must travel on to exit. If you land on a space occupied by a single opponents piece you send it back to start. If you land on a space occupied by 2 or more opponents pieces then your piece goes back to start.
The 3 dice give a marked or blank result. They are 4 sided with 3 sides marked and 1 side blank. 3 marked means move 5 squares or enter 1 piece and throw again. 3 blank means move 4 squares and throw again. 2 marked and 1 blank means move 1 square and throw again. 2 blank and 1 marked means turn ends.
There are 3 special type spaces. Bonus Double space allows you to move your piece forward by the same amount that you moved there with. Bonus Rosette allows you to move one piece onto the board. Penalty Eyes allows the opponent to move one of his pieces 4 spaces.
First to bear off all 7 of his pieces wins.
