Description

The game commences as Hebrew tribes cross the River Jordan into lands occupied by the Canaanites. Charismatic leaders including Joshua, Gideon, David and Solomon try to build a powerful kingdom boasting numerous cities and temples. Opposing them are neighboring peoples; Philistines, Edomites, Moabites, Ammonites, Arameans and Phoenicians, all with similar aspirations. But it is not these that will bring about decline, rather the invasions of great empires; Egypt, Assyria and Babylon.

Promised Land is a game for two to six players. One team plays the Hebrews the other plays their heathen enemies. Each player has six patriarchs, playing pieces that represent farmers, merchants and priests. The position of these on the board will earn coins, which in turn allows players to invest to promote future kingdoms. The winner is the player gaining the most points at games end.
