Little or great lord? Not everything here is the fine English style
Cornwall is picturesquely situated in the southwest of England and fascinates with magnificent castles, lush green meadows and forests, rolling hills and mysterious bogs. These landscapes take the players in the new family game "Cornwall" by Schmidt games gradually in possession. However - not everyone does that in the fine English way...
Two to four players, ages 8+, try to create landscapes in the exciting laying game by author Johannes Schmidauer-König. Ideally, as many of the created areas as possible fit together. Because then the players receive money, which they can use later profitably again. There are always two to three different landscapes on the tiles. Cornwall is gradually being created - with bogs, forests, hills, villages and meadows. If there is a cottage in an area or it can no longer be enlarged, areas can be scored at the end of a turn. First, it is determined which player has the majority there. With the points scored, it progresses on the scoreboard. Valued figures wander into a pub. If the bill (a coin) is paid, all pieces of their own color may return to the game.
But not all play in the fine English way: by skillfully placing the landscape tile other players can be forced to a rating before their land gain is too large. Sometimes it makes sense to rate your own areas early by placing a corresponding tile. This occurs when playing pieces are needed or there is a risk that players could take the majority in this area. Only peatlands are evaluated at the end. The end of the game is reached when all the tiles have been created. The winner in Cornwall is who could win the most points.
Johannes Schmidauer-König, author of the award-winning game "Vienna", has once again developed an exciting family game with "Cornwall". Tactical skill and a good deal of impudence in securing your own territory create a fun gaming experience.
