Card Game
Description
Dirty Deutsch is an uncouth romp through the taboo, where no insult is too callous or low. Players swap German words and phrases to construct the perfect put down.
Don't know any German? Don't worry. That's what the game is for!
The cards are color-coded, so you always know whether you are being charmingly irreverent or begging for a beat-down.
Just match colors and collect 20 points to win. Learn new language skills. Mortify the righteous. Create an international incident!
Dirty Deutsch takes about 30 minutes to play, contains 99 full-color playing cards, and rules for play.
You won't see Dirty Deutsch as part of any first year language curriculum, even though swear words are an important part of German language and culture. At the very least, it's good to know what's being said, whether or not you're going to say it yourself.
And there's more to the educational content than just swear words. Dirty Deutsch demonstrates adjective endings, imperatives, some common nouns and pronouns, and static cultural phrases. You'll find humorous artwork with many visual puns, and simple but strategic rules that support the pedagogy through repetition and verbal practice... and it's fun too. We swear!
